Botswana Report
by Stephen Cartwright SOC Director
We were invited to run the School of Christ in Francis Town, Botswana in December 2008. Botswana is another of those small countries in Africa with an estimated population of 2 million. We have only run 1 full-time school of Christ in this nation, but the school has left a testimony and a witness to the Glory of God.
Here are some of the choice testimonies of students that went through the school.
Pastor Emmanuel Sampa
The School of Christ International course has left me a better person than when I came. In the past I have attended different courses at different levels but none of these schools dealt with self so directly.
From the teachings of Rev. Clendennen I have learnt that my worst enemy of my life and ministry is self. Self blocks the flow of the Holy Spirit and injures personal relationships. Until self is dealt with through the cross and the blood of Jesus, life remains a mystery.
The school covered the wrong notion I had on Prayer and Fasting. All along I was taught fasting was meant to allow God to intervene in my situation. But I have learnt that fasting is meant to deal with my flesh; while prayer is for my spirit. Once the flesh has been brought under subjection then my spirit would easily communicate with the Holy Spirit.
Through fasting I break the hold of the flesh on my life, fasting has nothing to do with God but with me. Lastly I have learnt that the highest form of ministry and life is living in the Will of God.

The School of Christ has affected my life in a very positive way. The lesson which affected and changed me was the "spiritual warfare." I learnt that spiritual warfare start with the inward man inside me. I did not know that when I demonstrate anger, bitterness toward other people I am glorifying the devil. This teaching affected me so much that when I realize all this time that I have glorifying the devil I repented and cried asking God to forgive me.
My God did forgive me because the following day during morning prayer the Lord opened my eyes, that morning the Lord made me to understand the Holy Spirit who is in me is the same who is in my brother, so how can I hate? So with that understanding my heart was filled with Gods kind of love. My life has changed.
I really thank God for using Bro. Clendennen to bring this message which is not easy to get. It is like a diamond. May God bless the people of the School of Christ International.

Being here I have learnt so much, I have learned more about prayer, the Holy Spirit, and intercession. I have improved so much in my prayer life. Before I came to the school of Christ I thought that prayer was boring but after the lessons I realized the importance of prayer, that day I asked God to give me the spirit of prayer. I can now say that I have a prayer full life. I came to learn about intercession I found it is important and that most of the revivals that have taken place in the past it was because of intercession and this touched me so much. My heart also broke when I found out that a small percentage of Christians give themselves to this ministry. I want to encourage us to stand in the gap for our church.
During the school I have also come to acknowledge the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is my comforter, healer, my guide, he has come to help us preach the Word of God and to be filled with the Holy Spirit means to be holy.
