Evangelizing Nepal: In One year
With the death of the King and the overthrow of the government in 2005 the hindrances to evangelize Nepal where removed and the gospel light began to shine throughout the Himalayan Mountain region, areas that had never heard the gospel where now within reach. To reach these precious people we knew it was going to take more than mimes, drama teams, or puppet shows. It was going to take men and women filled with the power of the Holy Ghost who preached the word in power and demonstration.
Knowing it was the will of God to do all we possibly could do to reach the Nepali people for Jesus; we began the School of Christ in the capital city of Katmandu. Every month for one year we brought ministers from all over Nepal, 25-30 at a time, and gave them the tools that were required to reap this great harvest.
Three hours of prayer and six hours a day of teaching from Pastor Clendennen for 25 days was the formula to kindle a burning passion in their souls for the lost. So many testified of a life changing experience equivalent to that of salvation and others where filled with the Holy Ghost for the first time. During one of the Schools 3 students went to pray for a dying man. Before they left they told me the man will be healed, when they returned 3 hours later God had performed the miracle.
Batch after batch graduated and took this blessed gospel back to their villages. A few students went into Tibet and preached. They returned with the testimony that nearly 80 people had received Christ in one village. Two graduates went to the streets preaching and won over 200 souls for Christ in 4 months. The Church that was hosting the SOC really experienced revival. In 3 months they saw 2450 dedications for Christ. The church is now so full they have to close the doors one hour before service because there is nowhere to sit the people.
After one year we brought as many graduates as possible, 288 in all, back to Katmandu for a three day fast and prayer. So many of them had testimonies of miracles they had seen, souls they had won for Christ, and places they had been. On the second day in prayer the power of God came down and nearly all the people where slain in the Spirit at one time. The presence of God was so strong that the neighbors began coming outside to see what was happening.
Three young girls came to the back door of the Church, when I went back there one said to me "we are Hindu's and we have never been inside the Church, can we come in?" I told them they could go inside and they took a few steps in and just stayed there for a few minutes staring, I am sure they had never seen anything like that before in there life. People on the floor, some jumping, some crying, and everybody caught up in God. Just like the SOC says, "If we pray God will draw the people to the Church."
At the end of the meeting we counted and we had people from all 14 states of Nepal. There where even 2 people there from Munang and Mustang, the hardest places to reach in Nepal. They told us of many receiving the gospel in their villages. Praise be to God. The whole country was evangelized in one year. The work of God is still on going there but we know that every state has a Pentecostal testimony. "Get a man pregnant with God, send him to any place in the world and he will birth the Church."
