Saigon, Vietnam Report

by Ken Geisendorfer   SOC Director

In August 2010, we graduated sixty-five hungry for God students in Saigon, Vietnam. With this school we now have 500 pastors, evangelists and missionaries in Southeast Asia with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of the students had to travel two days to get to the school in Saigon. There was such a hunger to hear the Word of God that it was humbling to even be there. After we graduated the school we traveled for one week into the mountains of Vietnam to visit over two-hundred students that had graduated within the last two years. We preached at seven churches that had pastors from fifty different churches. We had to go at night with the cover of darkness to preach at some of the churches so the police would not see us.

One place I preached and exhorted pastors that had graduated from The School of Christ to find out that one pastor and his wife came 100 miles to hear the Word of God. After the service, he and his wife were to return to their home but it was so foggy that you could hardly see the road and he was traveling by motorbike on the mountain roads. We told him that he and his wife should spend the night and leave early the next morning but he said that he had to go back because the next morning was Sunday and he didn't want to be late to preach the Word at his church.

Sunday morning we left the hotel at 5am and drove one hour to a church that was standing room only. They came to hear the Word of God preached. After that service we drove a hard two and a half hours into the mountains to another church. These precious people had been waiting for over two hours for us to arrive so that they could hear the Word of God preached. All of the churches we went to there was a hunger for God and we found that the students that had graduated from The School of Christ in the last two years were on fire for God and full of the Spirit. We were so blessed to find Spiritual growth in all the students.

Forty-two years ago Brother and Sister Clendennen went to Saigon, Vietnam to do the will of God. Three years he preached and many were born-again but the Holy Ghost had not filled any of them. Then suddenly the Spirit fell on 200 Vietnamese and all were filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Only God knows how many were saved and filled through the obedience of Brother and Sister Clendennen going to Vietnam. Now a generation later, we, The School of Christ, are dealing with the seeds of Pentecost that were sown by the lives of the Clendennen's. I remember Pastor Clendennen saying God never starts anything before He is finished. God is using The School of Christ to bring a real Pentecostal revival to Vietnam but not before He sent Brother Clendennen there forty years prior to preach Christ and see an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Truly we are seeing God's hand at work through The School of Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and support so that we can finish the task set before us.

In Christ,
Pastor Ken Geisendorfer
